Deep Purple's album "Infinite", double vinyl edition. 45 rpm vinyl.
Deep Purple is one of the most influential British rock bands of all time with 120 million albums sold worldwide. Deservedly included in the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame", they inspired several generations of hard rock musicians and fans, releasing such significant albums as "In Rock" and "Machine Head", which became important milestones in the history of rock music. Their live album "Made in Japan" is often called one of the best, if not the best, live album of all time. Released in 2013, the album "Now What?!" He brought Deep Purple back to the top of the world charts, and more than a million tickets were sold on the tour in support of him.
Three members from the current Deep Purple line-up - Ian Gillan, Roger Glover and Ian Pace - also played in the classic line-up of the band, known as "Mark II". In addition to them, the current line-up includes Don Airey (this is his fourth album with the band) and Steve Morse, who has been in the band for more than 20 years and has recorded six records with the band. As on the previous album "Now What?!", the producer of "inFinite" again became Bob Ezrin, in addition to Deep Purple, also known for working with Alice Cooper, Kiss and Pink Floyd.
"InFinite" is probably the most "seventies" of all the Deep Purple albums released after the reunion in 1984 and the release of "Perfect Strangers". Ezrin and Deep Purple managed to capture the purest classical sound of the band without falling into nostalgia and self-imitation. On the contrary, the band demonstrates calmness and is not going to limit themselves in the length of songs and solo improvisations, just as it was at the dawn of their career. From "In Rock" to "Infinite" - the perfect cycle has ended.
With the release of the album "inFinite" and the planned tour "The Long Goodbye" Deep Purple are approaching a turning point in their career. Perhaps this release will be the final chapter in the history of Deep Purple. The farewell motifs in the lyrics, the name of the upcoming tour - all this certainly raises questions for the band. And if this is really Deep Purple's final album, then it could hardly be better.
"InFinite" is an album both heavy and refined. "The progressive album is Deep Purple" - summed up one of the critics after a private acquaintance with the record. "We're just an instrumental jazz band where sometimes someone sings," Ian Gillan replied. Well, there have never been heavier guitars in jazz bands than on "inFinite", which reveals an unexpected side of Steve Morse's playing - melodic, raw, with clearly blues roots. And Ian Gillan, free from the obligation to sound as expected, demonstrates diverse and exciting vocals throughout the album.
