The decade of The Mad Axeman - studio recordings plus live recordings - is dedicated to the ten years between 2007 and 2016, when Michael Schenker exploded with musical creativity again, composing dozens of exceptional songs. Although he worked with many different musicians at that time, all compositions are unmistakably 100% owned by Michael Schenker.
In 2007, Michael Schenker rose like a phoenix from the ashes and returned to his musical roots with his new release MSG "In The Middle Of Beauty". The team, consisting of vocalist Gary Barden, with whom Schenker composed all twelve songs for the album, ex-Whitesnake bassist Neil Murray, Toto drummer Simon Phillips and Deep Purple keyboardist Don Airey, brought to life the spirit of the 1980 debut album "Michael Schenker Band".
In 2011, Michael Schenker, an artistically restless musician who continues to rethink himself and his music, assembled a new band with the support of various guest musicians. Filled with dynamic strength, energy and inspiration, Schenker entered a new phase of his life with Temple Of Rock. He himself called it a new level of existence that allowed him to enjoy life more than ever before and reap the joys of his former development. He has released three studio albums and two live performances under the Temple Of Rock banner. Michael Schenker managed to recruit two former Scorpions members from the "Lovedrive" era for this new band: Francis Buchholz on bass and Herman Rarebell on drums, as well as former Rainbow frontman Dougie White and Wayne Findlay on keyboards.
Michael Schenker surprised everyone in 2016 with a special concert release recorded in Tokyo. The outstanding German guitarist hired former MSG vocalist Robin McAuley, Graham Bonnet and Gary Barden for a series of joint performances, as well as his former allies Chris Glen, Steve Mann and Ted McKenna. What Michael Schenker presented live on stage with this line-up can only be described as a Festival for his fans, which is why he called this new constellation of musicians the Michael Schenker Fest.
With the participation of
Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, Francis Buchholz, Wayne Findlay, Chris Glen, Steve Mann, Robin McAuley, Ted McKenna, Neil Murray, Simon Phillips, Herman Rarebell, Elliott "Dean" Rubinson, Michael Voss, Dougie White
Special guests
Rudolf Schenker, Jeff Scott Soto, Pete Way
