Vinyl Disc Enigma / MCMXC A.D. (Limited Edition) (LP)

"MCMXC A.D." is a limited, remastered reissue of Enigma's debut studio album, originally released in 1990. Reaching the No. 1 position in 41 countries, the album collected 57 platinum awards, including triple platinum in the United States, where it remained in the Billboard 200 album rankings for five years. The first single "Sadeness (Part I)" became an unambiguous hit, primarily due to a successful combination of Gregorian chants and flute sounds ("shakuhachi"). The album also contained the subsequent, equally popular singles "Mea Culpa (Part II)", "Principles of Lust" and "The Rivers of Belief". It was conceived as one continuous composition, so similar motifs, Gregorian chants and Sandra Cretu's vocals constantly appear in the album. In addition, the tone changes sound similar in all compositions, two tracks ("Principles of Lust" and "Back to the Rivers of Belief") have the same percussion and the album ends with the same melody as it begins.

The release is presented on black 180-gram vinyl.

Enigma is a German musical project created by Michel Cretu in 1990. Cretu is the composer and producer of the project, his ex-wife, singer Sandra Cretu, performed many vocal parts in his compositions. In total, eight studio albums, nineteen singles and several compilations were released. The project existed only as a studio, but since 2019 its members Andru Donalds, Andreas Harde (Angel X), Fox Lima have been performing concerts under the name Original Enigma Voices around the world.
