'74 Jailbreak is a remastered reissue of AC/DC's EP originally released in 1984. The album contains no new songs, but only compositions previously released only in Australia. Thus, the first track "Jailbreak" is taken from the Australian version of the album "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" (1976), and the remaining four songs are taken from the Australian version of the album High Voltage (1975).

AC/DC (Alternating Current/Direct Current) is an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in November 1973 by Scottish brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Along with bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Judas Priest and Motörhead, AC/DC are often regarded as the pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal. The musicians themselves classified their music as rock and roll, since it is based on rhythm and blues with a heavily distorted sound of rhythm and solo guitars. The band went through several lineup changes before the band's first album, High Voltage, was released in 1975. The band's line-up remained unchanged until bassist Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977. On February 19, 1980, lead singer and songwriter Bon Scott died of heavy alcohol intoxication. The group had every chance to break up, but Scott's replacement was found in the person of former Geordie vocalist Brian Johnson. In the same year, the band recorded their best-selling album, "Back in Black". The band has sold over 200 million albums worldwide, including 72 million in the US. The most successful album, Back in Black, sold over 22 million in the US and over 42 million overseas. Overall, AC/DC is the most successful and famous rock band from Australia and one of the most popular in the world.
