Sketches Of Spain is an album by Miles Davis recorded in 1959-1960 and released by Columbia Records in 1960. The album is dedicated to the culture of Spain and is based more on pre-prepared orchestrations, less on improvisation, than any of Davis' albums of this period. The album was the result of Davis' collaboration with composer and arranger Gil Evans.
American jazz trumpeter and bandleader Miles Davis was born in 1926 and died in 1991. He had a great influence on the development of music of the XX century, stood at the origins of such trends as cool jazz, modal jazz and fusion.
