Alphaville is a German synthpop band that was very popular in the mid-1980s. Formed in 1982, its founders are Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens. The band was originally called Forever Young, but later changed its name to Alphaville. The band gained worldwide fame thanks to two hits - "Big In Japan" and "Forever Young", released in 1984.
