"An Awesome Wave" is the debut album by rock group alt-J, released in 2012. The album took the 13th line of the UK charts, was awarded the Barclaycard Mercury Prize and the Ivor Novello Award.
Alt-J is a British indie rock band founded in Leeds in 2007. The band members were Joe Newman (guitar/vocals), Gus Unger-Hamilton (keys/vocals), Tom Green (drums), Gwil Sainsbury (guitar/bass). The debut album "An Awesome Wave" (2012) was recognized as the best album of the United Kingdom and collected several awards. Since that time, alt-J has released two more studio albums “This Is All Yours“ (2014), ”Relaxer“ (2017), a live album, ”Live At Red Rocks" (2016), several mini-albums and singles. Alt-J songs are heard in the TV series “Treason" (Russia, 2015), "Atypical” (USA, 2017) and in other films.
