Phil Collins' retrospective campaign titled "Take A Look At Me Now" has sparked a significant surge of interest in his catalog. Collins' albums not only returned to the charts for the first time in many years, but additional materials for the records allowed fans to look at the artist's songs from a different angle, and the versions in which the discs were reissued received critical acclaim. In his campaign, Phil Collins addresses his creative legacy, which consists of albums that have sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.
The campaign ends on June 10 with the release of "...But Seriously" and the reissue of an expanded version of his latest album to date, which will be released under the title "The Essential Going Back".
Originally released in December 1989, the album "...But Seriously" included some of Collins' biggest hits and became one of the best-selling records of its era. In the UK, the CD spent a total of 15 weeks at the top of the chart and became the highest-grossing album of 1990. The album campaign culminated with the fourth and fifth BRIT Awards in the categories of "Best Single" (‘Another Day in Paradise') and "Best British Singer". Worldwide, the record took the highest positions in the charts, including a four-week triumph at the first place of Billboard.
