The Sumiko Black Bird Low pickup head is destined to become a classic of analog sound: each cartridge is created manually, for a long time, undergoing numerous tests and listening in order to meet the most stringent requirements.
The design with an open suspension system is designed to eliminate the occurrence of resonances responsible for distortions that are typical for conventional heads with a closed body. In addition, a rigid coil suspension using an inertial block significantly reduces internal resonances.
A special elliptical needle mounted in a long-crystal boron console was chosen for its rigidity and low weight. This combination provides the most complete transfer of energy from the needle to the coil and, as a result, steady, stable movement along the track and excellent bass resolution.
