Sumiko engineers have carefully studied the resonant properties of the Blue Point No cartridge.2 and came to the conclusion that there is a possibility of improving it. The resonances of the cartridge case have a more significant impact on the sound than many vinyl lovers can imagine, and the developers decided to rethink how the case resonates around the generator.

The release of Sumiko Blue Point No.3 High became another anniversary model in the company's catalog, the release of which was timed to coincide with its 40th anniversary. A lot of work has been done in the new cartridge to additionally dampen the resonances of the structure, which made it possible to obtain an even more transparent and detailed sound.

By nature, Sumiko Blue Point No.3 High is a bit like the famous vintage MM cartridges from Shure & Stanton, which were distinguished by their smooth sound.
