Vinyl disc Don't Look Back (180gr. Vinyl)
Devon Allman and Mike Zito have peacefully separated to pursue their solo careers, after stellar contributions to 2012's self-titled debut album HeartSoulBlood 2014 and tours that have rocked more than twenty countries around the planet. Of course, these are huge shoes that need to be filled, but in 2015, Don't Look Back proves that the MkII lineup is at the right level.
You are already familiar with Cyril Neville: the god of groove, the extraordinary voice box and the beating heart of the Brotherhood. As always, he has drummer Jonrico Scott and bass guitarist Charlie Wooton by his side: the backbone that drove RSB from the very beginning. Your favorite band is in good hands. Now the dynamics of the band, which Cyril famously describes as "gumbo," are getting a new fiery pinch of spice thanks to a fresh guitar partnership. Blues rock fans know that you can expect a lot from Bart Walker. An attractive Nashville shooter, he first made a splash with Ruf's debut album "Waiting On Daylight" in 2013 and the "Blues Caravan" tour the same year. In "Don't Look Back", Bart performs as a guitarist, songwriter and sometimes vocalist. Hiring Tyrone Vaughan was another great idea. Like his illustrious predecessor Devon Allman, the Texas guitarist knows all about the double-edged sword of the famous surname: he is the son of Jimmy Vaughn and the nephew of the immortal Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Some groups fly high and then fall like rocks. With "Don't Look Back," the Royal Southern Brotherhood smoothly moved into a new era, retaining everything fans loved about their signature gumbo, but turning up the heat. So don't look back. After all, who needs past glory when the future looks so bright...?
