"Black Celebration" is the fifth studio album by Depeche Mode, released on March 17, 1986. "Black Celebration" is recorded in "dark" tones, which Alan Wilder also used in the album "Construction Time Again". The disc features a successful combination of electronica and Gothic rock. "Black Celebration" is the only Depeche Mode album in which Martin Gore acts as the main vocalist on 5 songs ("A Question Of Lust", "Sometimes", "It Doesn't Matter Two", "World Full Of Nothing" and "Black Day").
The Depeche Mode collective was formed in 1980 in the UK, and became the founder of its own musical genre (a mixture of rock and electronic music). 115 million copies of their albums have been sold. Q magazine included the band in the list of "50 bands that changed the world", and in 2001, the VH1 channel identified Depeche Mode on the 98th position in the list of "100 greatest artists of all time".
