Roseland NYC Live (or simply PNYC) is the first live album by the British band Portishead, released in 1998. The recording was made during the band's performance with the New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra at the Roseland Ballroom (New York) on July 24, 1997. The song "Sour Times" was recorded in San Francisco at the Warfield Hall on April 1, 1998. The song "Roads" was recorded at the Quart Festival in Kristiansand on July 3, 1998. By the way, this album contains the first available recording in which vocalist Beth Gibbons plays guitar (in the composition "Elysium").
The British band Portishead was founded in 1991 and performs preferably trip-hop and experimental electronic music. Despite their relative youth, the band has already managed to leave its mark on the history of music - their work has seriously influenced artists such as Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit), Kanye West, musicians Danger Mouse and Zemfira. To date, the band has released 1 live and 3 studio albums.
