Heart Of Fire Vinyl Disc (180g Vinyl)
Now is not the time for the faint of heart. The pandemic may have silenced the music scene, shut down live performances, and separated artists from their fans. But in "Heart of Fire," the Texans' favorite new shooter, Ellie Venable, breaks loose from the ropes, swinging. This fourth release by the famous singer and songwriter defies the dark times and includes amps. This is a record that will shake your speakers and point to better times. "My vision was to really spread a positive message of love," Venable says. "The world needs it right now."
If Heart Of Fire finds Venable giving the world much-needed love, then the feeling is completely mutual. Despite being in her early twenties, a dizzying two decades of guitarists moving as fast as her fingers, her path ran from a children's church choir to the teenage influence of local heroes such as Stevie Ray Vaughn and Miranda Lambert, while her critically acclaimed catalog begins with No Glass. Shoes (2016) and Puppet Show (2018) took 2nd place on the Billboard 2019 Texas Honey chart. As noted by Texas roots icon Mike Zito, "Ellie is the future of blues and American rock crossover."
Heart Of Fire is a great way to burn out. In the world of electronic pop music, this old soul shooter brings a storm to the Led Zeppelin-worthy track Hard Change and the driving, wow-soaked melody of the title track, and invites special guest Kenny Wayne Shepard to break Bring On The Pain.. Elsewhere, her writing often branches into left field, from the chain-stomping Hateful Blues to the brooding double-header Road To Nowhere with the great southern rocker Devon Allman. "He immediately turned on," she muses, "and brought it to life."
