Phono cartridge with shell Audio-Technica AT-VM95C/H
Audio-technica AT-VM95C is the initial model of a new series of VM95 pickup heads. This cartridge uses a needle tip with a 0.6 mil conical sharpening. In terms of sound characteristics, the new pickup is significantly better than its predecessors AT91, AT91R and CN5625AL, which it replaced. The pickup uses a new aluminum tube cantilever, and an improved coil design with an increased output voltage of 4 mV. Audio-Technica AT-VM95C is the most budget-friendly pickup head in the new line, but it can be upgraded to any other head by simply replacing the needle. That is, you can always choose another sharpening from the VM95 series: Elliptical, Elliptical nude, Microlinear or Shibata. Any needle wears out as records are played, which is why it is so important to be able to purchase a replacement needle. The approximate service life of the conical needle AT-VMN95C is about 500 hours.
