The Audio-Technica VM610MONO pickup head is a VM-type pickup with a dual magnetic system and a highly efficient paratoroidal converter design.
V M cartridges from Audio-Technica are distinguished by a unique design. This design increases the efficiency of the movable system and ensures perfect contact of the needle tip with the recording groove. In addition, the VM610MONO series cartridges use a paratoroidal converter design located inside the head housing, which allows you to eliminate any losses in sound information and obtain the highest efficiency of the converting system. The arrangement of a two-coil electromagnetic converter system, with a central shielding plate between the coils, allows for a wide and uniform frequency response and almost completely eliminates the interference of the coils of the right and left channels.
The head of the Audio-Technica VM610MONO pickup is equipped with a needle with a conical profile. The advantage of the Conical Bonded profile is that even in case of wear, the tip of the needle provides precise contact with the groove and stable sound quality. For this quality, such needles were widely used on radio stations.
The coils of the Audio-Technica VM610MONO pickup are wound with 6N-OFC copper - oxygen-free copper of a high degree of purification (99.99997%).
