"Greatest Hits" is a reissue of the collection of the best hits of the American band Guns N’ Roses.
The release is presented on double black vinyl.
Guns N’ Roses is an American hard rock band formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, California. The original members, who signed a record deal with Geffen Records in 1986, included: vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler. During its existence, the Guns N’ Roses collective has undergone several line-up changes. The current line-up includes: Rose, Slash, McKagan, as well as keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer. The discography of Guns N’ Roses, in addition to singles and compilations, has six studio albums, sales of which currently exceed 100 million copies worldwide, including 45 million in the USA alone, and is rightfully considered one of the most popular bands in the world. Guns N’ Roses' debut album, titled "Appetite for Destruction" (1987), reached number one on the Billboard 200 a year after its release, and the song "Sweet Child o’ Mine" became the band's only single to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. "Appetite for Destruction" sold out with a circulation of about 30 million copies worldwide, 18 million of which were sold in the United States, and became the best-selling debut album of all time in the United States, as well as the eleventh best-selling album in the United States. The successful debut was followed by the album "G N’ R Lies" (1988), which reached number two on the Billboard 200, and the single "Patience" entered the top five in the US charts. Sales of "G N’ R Lies" totaled only ten million copies worldwide, including five million in the US. The double album "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II" (1991) reached the second and first places on the Billboard 200, respectively, and sold 35 million copies worldwide, including 14 million in the United States. Album of cover versions of "The Spaghetti Incident?" (1993) was the last studio album of the band, in which Slash and McKagan took part. After more than a decade of work and several line-up changes, Guns N’ Roses released the long-awaited sixth album "Chinese Democracy" (2008), which, according to estimates of the cost of production, cost approximately $ 14 million and is the most expensive rock album ever released in the history of music. It debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, but sold worse than expected, despite mostly positive reviews. Both former members Slash and McKagan reunited with the band in 2016.
