"Music For A While - Improvisations On Purcel" is a music album by Kristina Pluchar and her classical ensemble L'arpeggiata performing improvisations on the theme of Henry Purcell's music.
The release is presented on double black vinyl.
Kristina Pluchar is an Austrian lutenist, harpist, and conductor. A prominent representative of the authentic performance movement. Specializes in Baroque music. In the 1990s, she performed mainly as a lutenist in various European ensembles of ancient music ("La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy", "Les Musiciens du Louvre", "Concerto Köln", "La Fenice" and others). In 2000, in Paris, she founded her own ensemble of ancient music, L'arpeggiata, with which she tours (including in Russia since 2004), performs at international music festivals (since 2008 at the Ambron Baroque Music Festival) and in famous concert halls (since 2012 at Carnegie Hall in New York), records. The Arpeggiate ensemble is distinguished by impeccable performing discipline, pure intonation of (natural) wind instruments and vocalists. In performing editions of old scores, Plukhar strives for a balance between the author's musical text (res facta) and vocal-instrumental improvisation (known as "recomposition").
