Reissue of the fourth studio album Blood, Sweat & Tears, released in 1971. It peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Pop Albums Chart. The band brought in former member Al Cooper to write the song "John the Baptist (Holy John)". Trombonist Dave Bargeron replaced Jerry Hyman.
The American rock band Blood Sweat & Tears was founded in 1967 and lasted until 1981 (in 1984 the band met again and still exists). For a long time, Blood Sweat & Tears (along with Chicago) was considered the headliner of the jazz-rock movement. The composition of the team was constantly changing (a total of 50 musicians passed through it), but the period 1968-1972 is considered the "golden years". David Clayton-Thomas was the vocalist at the time, and it was under him that the band won two Grammy Awards and sold six million albums.
