Sumiko Blue Point Special EVO III Low is a pickup head with a movable coil and a low output signal level (0.5 mV).

Sumiko Blue Point Special EVO III is distinguished by the complete absence of a housing cover to protect the converter, sporting a somewhat unusual and well-recognized design. Its upper platform with two threaded holes for attaching to the shell has a rounded front part. The entire working system with magnets, a powerful coil and an aluminum cantilever is installed directly under it at some angle. Synthetic rubber is used as the suspension material of the cantilever. The open design avoids the influence of various re-reflected waves, which often cause distortion when using heads with conventional rectangular housings. When connecting such a cartridge to the tonearm, maximum care should be taken not to damage it. The output contacts are made of copper and gold-plated.

The needle sharpening is made in the shape of an ellipse (0.3 mm x 0.7 mm). The frequency range is quite wide and continues to the upper limit of 40,000 Hz. The cartridge has a weight of 8.3 g. It can be used with almost any modern tonearm. The high level of the output signal allows this model to work with phono correctors designed for MM cartridges. It is desirable that their load impedance is equal to 100 kOhm. The channel separation level is quite high and is 30 dB. One of the useful properties of the EVO III is its ability to accurately track the track of a vinyl disc.
