Interconnect cable Van Den Hul First® Metal Screen

Coaxial high-quality connecting audio cable for line-level signals and digital audio cable SPDIF made of LSC material (Linear Structured Carbon - linear structured carbon) with metal shielding. The First Metal Screen cable is the result of the development of Van den Hul's First series of coaxial cables, which use LSC conductor material. The cables in this series are designed to transmit audio and digital SPDIF signal with the highest quality. The First Metal Screen cable is a specially created version of the Van den Hul First cable. It has the same basic design, however, as its name implies, it also has a dense screen in the form of a braid of high-quality metal (oxygen-free copper) covering the screen made of LSC material. Thus, the First Metal Screen cable can be considered as a coaxial (asymmetric) version of the symmetrical Van den Hul Second cable, which is also made of LSC material and has metal shielding.

The main difference between the cables included in the First series is the active resistance of their screen. First, First Ultimate and First Metal Screen cables have consistently decreasing active resistance of the screen (respectively, 14, 4.8 and 0.0049 ohms/m).

Although the two cables mentioned first are variants in which metal is not used at all, and which practically have no background and noise in more than 95% of cases of connections with line-level signal transmission, the First Metal Screen cable with its lowest screen resistance was designed specifically for those situations when cables flow through the screen excessive grounding currents (for example, when using lamp equipment), in cases of complex grounding systems or when additional shielding from powerful external electrical interference is required (for example, in places where there are strong electrical noises).
