Catherine Elizabeth Hudson (better known as Katy Perry) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. In April 2007, Perry signed a record deal with Capitol Records. She became widely known worldwide after the release of the single "I Kissed a Girl" and the album "One of the Boys" in 2008. Subsequent singles "Hot n Cold" and "Waking Up in Vegas" also enjoyed wide international popularity. Perry's third album Teenage Dream was released in September 2010. 6 singles were released from it, 5 of which reached the top of the USA: "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T.", "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)". The album "Teenage Dream" is the first album among female artists where five singles reached to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the second album after Michael Jackson's "Bad". In March 2012, Perry re-released "Teenage Dream" under the title "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection". The first single "Part of Me" debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. It also topped the charts in the UK, Canada and New Zealand. Her fourth album, Prism, was released in October 2013. It topped the Billboard 200 national album chart in its first week of sales, and the first single "Roar" was a worldwide hit, topping 17 charts.
