The Pro-Ject Essential III player has a basic configuration and is equipped with an output from the pickup on RCA connectors designed for connection to an external phonocorretor. Externally, the Essential III player has not changed much compared to the previous version, in fact, several critical improvements have been made in it, which made it possible to improve the sound quality. This is a new drive roller on the engine, which is now made of aluminum by laser cutting, and has an increased smoothness of the surface. The motor itself is connected to a stabilizer that reduces the instability of the rotation speed of the disk and reduces the level of vibrations.

The disk and chassis in the Pro-Ject Essential III player are made of selected MDF and have additional damping to dampen parasitic resonances. The new turntable has an improved felt mat, which has a high density and effectively protects the plate from vibrations. The support bearing is made with precision precision, which also had a positive effect on the stability of the rotation of the disc.

The player is equipped with a straight aluminum tonearm with a length of 8.6 inches, on which the Ortofon OM10 pickup is pre–installed - another change compared to the previous model, which was equipped with a simpler OM5 head. The tonearm bearing is made of sapphire, which ensures smooth and precise movement of the pickup in the sound track of the record. The device is mounted on damping supports, which effectively protect it from external vibrations.
