Vinyl Player Pro-Ject Debut III DC Esprit OM10 Piano

The Debut III DC Esprit model of the Austrian company Pro-Ject, specializing in the production of vinyl turntables, is one of the most purchased in the world. For a reasonable price, this small device is able to offer excellent sound quality.

The design of the player is spartanly simple, but carefully verified - a dust cover, an MDF table, an acrylic disc and an 8.6–inch tonearm in which an aluminum tube and a cartridge holder pad are a single unit. The whole structure is supported on the surface by four damping conical legs covered with rubber. The tonearm is equipped with an antiskating system and has a characteristic suspended weight. It is equipped with an inexpensive, but high-quality MM cartridge Ortofon OM-10. To prevent unwanted vibrations, the low-noise AC motor is untied from the player table using a special attachment.

By means of a belt drive, the torque is transmitted from the electric motor pulley to the support hub of the disc. The axle on which the disc is mounted is made of high-quality chrome-plated stainless steel. The bearing for this axis has a brass cage. Switching between rotation speeds (33.3 and 45 rpm) is carried out manually by reinstalling the belt on one of the two pulleys of the engine. The 78 rpm standard is optionally available, but for this you will have to purchase an additional pulley. In the company's catalog there is an external device Pro-Ject Speed Box, which allows you to change the speed electronically.

The design of the tonearm is well thought out. It is possible to adjust the azimuth of the pickup head. An inverted precision bearing is used in the mounting. There is a socket on the back of the player for connecting an external power adapter. It should be added that the device can be easily installed and adjusted even by an unprepared user.
