The older models in the VM 700 series line are equipped with a cast aluminum alloy body that dampens unwanted vibrations and provides outstanding sound.

The Audio-Technica VM760SLC pickup head is a VM-type pickup with a dual magnetic system and a highly efficient paratoroidal converter design.

V M cartridges from Audio-Technica are distinguished by a unique design. This design increases the efficiency of the movable system and ensures perfect contact of the needle tip with the recording groove. In addition, the VM760SLC series cartridges use a paratoroidal converter design located inside the head housing, which allows you to eliminate any losses in sound information and obtain the highest efficiency of the converting system. The arrangement of a two-coil electromagnetic converter system, with a central shielding plate between the coils, allows for a wide and uniform frequency response and almost completely eliminates the interference of the coils of the right and left channels.

The Audio-Technica VM760SLC pickup head is equipped with a needle with a Special Line Contact profile. The Special Line Contact profile provides the ability to follow in sections of the audio track even with the most complex broadband signal.

The coils of the Audio-Technica VM760SLC pickup are wound with 6N-OFC copper - oxygen-free copper of a high degree of purification (99.99997%).
