To ensure a stable and accurate transmission line impedance of 110 ohms, the combined dense polyethylene insulation of the central wires and a soft padding of 60 mm maintain a solid balanced geometry of the line. In addition, specially treated fibers are used as internal fillers. They act to further stabilize the geometry and, in addition, make the cable insensitive to moisture penetration and any resulting impedance deviations or transmission losses.

Supporting accurate data transmission and low-jitter clock recovery, the AES-EBU 110 Ohm Professional also has a very high bandwidth. As an example: the bandwidth is -3 dB per 10 m. The running frequency exceeds 300 MHz.
