Joe Dassin is a French singer, songwriter and musician of American descent. Joe Dassin began his career in America performing classic French chanson in local bars. But the enterprising young singer soon brought his music to France, soaring to the top of the charts. Although his career was cut short by a fatal heart attack in Tahiti in 1980, Dassin recorded a number of hits, including the legendary "L'ete indien".
