The design of the turntable is made in a minimalist style and looks quite presentable. The table is made of chipboard and is equipped with non-adjustable legs with rubber shock-absorbing inserts. The axis of the main bearing is made of high–quality stainless steel, and the bushing is made of bronze. MDF serves as a material for a felt-coated support disk with a diameter of 300 mm, which contributes to some reduction of mechanical noise and resonances. A low-noise synchronous motor is fixed in the upper left corner of the table, which rotates the support disk using a silicone belt with a circular cross section. The rotation speeds are switched manually. To do this, it is enough to transfer the passer from one wheel of the motor pulley to another. 33 1/3 and 45 rpm standards are available. A straight single-support 8.6-inch tonearm is used, in which the tube and holder are made of a single piece of aluminum. There is an adjustable antiskating system and the ability to install downforce. The power supply unit is placed in a separate housing. The player is equipped with a sturdy plastic cover, which is attached to the base using the usual adjustable hinges.

The PRO-JECT Essential II Phono USB (OM5e) White is equipped with an MM phono corrector, which makes it possible to use it in conjunction with any amplifier. The corrector does not turn off. There are two RCA output connectors in the back of the case. Another feature of this device is the possibility of its use for digitizing vinyl records. To do this, there is a USB port with an analog-to-digital converter, thanks to which the Essential Phono USB is easily connected to a computer and is able to work with any current operating system. However, you will have to take care of installing the appropriate recording software application on your PC. You can digitize a disc simultaneously with listening to it.
