Despite the fact that Kontrapunkt and MC Jubilee series cartridges have become the market standard and are among the most popular models, Ortofon decided to develop a new, even more ambitious series of cartridges, which became the seriesCadenza.
The use of carefully manufactured iron-cobalt pole tips in the new series, an improved winding process, the use of extruded aluminum for the manufacture of the case and other improvements have revealed new opportunities in the reproduction of analog recordings.
The Ortofon Cadenza Black model is equipped with a diamond needle with Nude Shibata sharpening, which is mounted on a boron cantilever. The mass of the movable needle/cantilever system is extremely small, thanks to the use of a thin boron rod. This material is even lighter than aluminum and very tough. The cartridge uses a wide Range Damping system, which separately controls high and low frequencies. The coils are wound from ultra-pure 6NX branded Ortofon Aucurum copper wire coated with gold.
Ortofon Cadenza Black amazingly accurately conveys tonality, dynamics and purity of sound.
