This year, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig Van Beethoven, Ortofon announced the release of a new exclusive model 2M Black LVB 250.

The Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 pickup head is the flagship model in this series. It is based on the 2M Black cartridge, recognized as one of the best MM pickups in its class. All the characteristics of the Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 have been further improved to achieve true technical perfection.

Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 is equipped with a solid diamond needle with Shibata sharpening, which is mounted on a boron cantilever – this solution is used in high-end Cadenza Black MC pickups. The Shibata-sharpened needle provides a very wide contact area with the walls of the sound track and guarantees excellent sound detail, as well as an extended frequency range. The use of a rigid and lightweight needle holder made of boron additionally increases the transparency, speed and detail of the sound.

In order to achieve an optimal ratio between compliance and damping, a new rubber compound has been developed for the suspension of the needle of the Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 cartridge. It is made on the basis of multi-wall carbon nano-tubes (MWCNT) and improves the quality of the pickup.
In addition, the new MWCNT compound is produced in the form of a rubber polymer, not a powder, which makes the production process more environmentally friendly.

Taking into account the optimal weight of 7.2 g and a malleability of 22 microns/mN, the Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 model is compatible with most modern high-end tonearms, including High End. This cartridge is designed for the most demanding music lovers and can be used on the most advanced vinyl players.

The Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 pickup is manufactured at the company's factory in the Danish city of Nakskov in the best European traditions.
