AC cable. Conductors made of long-grained copper (LGC) in a 7-core semi-solid concentric device in which the filaments never change position inside the bundle. This design, as well as the higher purity and more uniform granular structure of long-grained copper, significantly reduce distortion. In addition, AudioQuest NRG-Y3 EU with a silver shielding conductor effectively drops RF noise to the ground through the third "grounding" pin.

Long-grained copper (LGC). Conductors made of semi-monolithic concentrically packed copper are used in some AC cables and AudioQuest acoustic cables as an economical, flexible alternative to typical stranded conductors. They are designed on the basis of a smaller number of larger cores that do not change position along the entire length of the cable. While solid conductors become a source of distortion, semiconductor concentrically packed long-crystal copper (LGC) conductors avoid many of the distortion mechanisms of stranded conductors.

LGC provides solid copper with a longitudinal fiber arrangement, which provides a smoother and clearer sound, unlike cables using conventional oxygen-free high-conductivity copper (OFHC/BMVP). LGC has fewer oxides in the conductive material, fewer impurities, fewer grain boundaries, which gives definitely better performance. AudioQuest NRG-Y3 EU cables use LGC in a semiconductor concentric housing.

Zero impedance. Many AC power cables are characterized by low DC resistance to meet the demand for high current, so a characteristic such as impedance is crucial for optimal performance. Unlike most AC cables that shorten or compress an intermittent audio signal, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and zero impedance.
