USB Cable Audioquest Forest USB-A to USB-C
For many applications, the speed of digital communication is important. Most obviously, "speed" means transferring large files as fast as possible or transferring enough data for high definition video. For USB audio (and for HDMI audio), "speed" is crucial, not because of how fast, but because the temporal relationships in the digital stream are crucial to restoring the analog signal that brings information, music and joy to our ears. The time corruption (jitter) of this information in the data packet makes the sound small and smooth instead of 3D, sharp and hazy, and not smooth and clear.
AudioQuest USB Type-C cables with conductive materials and structural technologies, thanks to which other AQ USB cables have been recognized as "Best in Class" worldwide.
With the new USB Type-C connector quickly becoming commonplace on many devices, AQ's line of Type-C USB cables will allow users to connect to Type-C enabled devices such as MacBook, ChromeBook, Pixel, Galaxy Note 7, etc.
In addition, all AudioQuest USB cables include a newly developed voltage relief system that ensures reliable durability between the USB cable and the plug.
Solid 0.5% Silver conductors
Solid conductors eliminate the distortion of the interaction of the threads and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are great for very high-frequency applications such as HDMI audio and video. These signals, being such a high frequency, propagate exclusively on the surface of the conductor. Since the surface is made of high purity silver, the performance is very close to the characteristics of solid silver cable, but the price is much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost-effective way to manufacture very high-quality HDMI cables.
Solid 0.5% silver conductors.
Solid foam insulation (HCF) provides the critical geometry of the signal pair.
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. The insulation of the wires and the circuit board absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Solid foam insulation is similar to the styrofoam used in our more affordable Bridges & Falls cables, and is injected with nitrogen to create air pockets. Since nitrogen (e.g. air) does not absorb energy and therefore does not release energy from or into the conductor, distortion is reduced. In addition, the rigidity of the material allows the cable conductors to maintain a stable ratio along the entire length, creating a stable nature of the impedance and additionally minimizing distortion.
