Denon DP200 is a USB vinyl disc player, in the list of advantages of which special attention should be paid to the built-in phono corrector and ADC converter, which provides digitization of LP tracks with subsequent data transfer to a USB drive.

Technical features

The case of the player is made in a strict style mainly of matte plastic, which will favorably affect the visual and tactile sensations of the device. I was also pleased with the fully automatic mechanism for starting the playback process, thanks to which the tonearm directs the needle into the starting groove of the record independently, and at the end of the final track returns to its original position on the support. It is worth noting that the stock tonearm itself comes with a DSN-84 MM cartridge, the replacement of which with a more perfect one will significantly affect the sound. Moreover, the DP200 received an option to choose one of the two common rotational speeds of the reference disk (33 and 45 rpm), a built-in phono corrector that facilitates direct connection to multimedia acoustics and amplifiers devoid of such, as well as a non-removable cable with RCA connectors on the back of the case.

Sound. Digitization

Representing a near-budget price range, Denon DP200 USB, however, is able to provide the listener with almost the full aesthetic impressions of the perception of imposing vinyl recordings, and due to its equipment with an analog-digital converter, tracks from the records, if desired, will be quickly transferred to a USB drive or directly to a portable player. At the same time, it is worth remembering that lossless quality is out of the question, since the converted files are saved on USB media in MP3 format with a compromise sampling rate of 192 kB/s, which should serve as sufficient indicators for most who need the procedure for digitizing basic-level vinyl. Further work with the received file (splitting into separate tracks, tagging) is carried out in the Trans Music Manager program, the installation CD from which is supplied with the turntable.  

Denon DP200 USB is a soundly assembled LP player, which is no stranger to proper sound, concise design, as well as in-demand functionality with some profile options.
