The Mackenzie River, originally named "Disappointment" for dispelling Alexander Mackenzie's hope that it would lead to the Pacific Ocean rather than the Arctic Ocean, is Canada's largest and longest river system. After 2,635 miles, it flows through an extensive network of lakes, boreal forests and Arctic tundra. Many tributaries of the Mackenzie cover parts of three provinces - British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan - and two territories, Yukon and Northwest Territories. The sparsely populated Mackenzie Basin, known as the "Northern Amazon", remains one of the greatest unspoilt natural areas in the world.

The AudioQuest MacKenzie XLR-XLR cable uses the best version of copper developed by the company's metallurgists - copper with an ideal surface + (Perfect-Surface Copper+ PSC+). As an insulating material, Mackenzie uses foamed polyethylene with injected nitrogen (Nitrogen-Injected Foamed-Polyethylene).

100% of the surface is easily shielded. To prevent the captured RF interference from modulating the grounding output of the equipment, the Noise-Dissipation system developed by AQ specialists is used. Thanks to it, a significant part of RF interference does not reach the ground plane of the equipment.
